Best times to reach Solan:-

From April to June is the best time for going to Solon. Time from October to November is also fit for going there.

How to reach:- since the city is connected with the Grand Trunk Road, one can reach here from any city by bus or taxi. One can come here by train as well as the place is connected with the Kalka junction. As far as the air way is concerned the nearest airport is Chandigarh.

Small zoo and Park in Solan:- there are so many small park which are so beautiful and attractive. Mohan Park, Children Park and  Jawahar Park are some main parks. In the Children Park there is a small Zoo where some very rare animals are kept which are normally not seen anywhere.

Badog:- there are total 102 tunnels on the Kalka Simla Railway, the longest one is in Barog. Just 4 kms away of Solan the Railway Station of Barog is also very beautiful. It is surrounded high beautiful trees and that is why so many people come here for pic nic.

The carol cave:- just 5 kms away of the city, this cave is considered to be the oldest cave of the Himalayas. This cave is situated at a height of 7000ft. now the ropeways are available to reach at this place.

Places near by Solan:-

Dagshai:- the place is approximately 15 kms away of Solan. Dagshai is famous for the historical prison situated here. Saying is that the earlier name of dagshai was daag-e-shahi(A stain to the royals) which,as the time passed, changed to dagshai.

Yashwant Nagar:- 20 kms away of solan, this place is rich with the all natural beauties. Situated at the bank of the river ‘Giri’, this place attracts the people very much.

Sanawar:- situated21 kms away of the solan this place posses the irresistible beauty. Though the whole place is beauriful, two places are worth seeing. First is solar energy swimming pool and the second is 150 years old public school. Here is also a monument that was built in the memory of the martyrs of the war that was held about 80 year ago.

Kasauli:- just 25 kms away of solan this place is surrounded by the high trees of cedar and pine. In the summers the cool and soothing air of this place is very attractive where as in the days of summer the whole place is covered by snow. That is why tourists come here in a very large number every year.

Chail:-  Chail is one of the best honeymoon places in India. It is said, when Patiala king was expelled from his state by the English, he was settled here and made this place his capital. This place is situated on the top of three small peaks, where on one peak the palace of Patiala king is situated. Here is those everything by seeing which tourists are attracted towards this place. Lakes, mountain peaks, high trees, clouds floating in the sky and among the mountais….. everything is remarkably beautiful here.Here is also the highest cricket playground of the country. Here is also a very beautiful Sadhu Bridge which is a very cool picnic spot.
